Salesforce.com today marked the official opening of its new Seattle development office with a volunteer event for its local employees at Operation Sack Lunch on the downtown waterfront.
To greet the company was Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn, who went well beyond the typical platitudes to give an unprompted endorsement for Salesforce.com based on his office's use of the service to manage communications with constituents. See McGinn's comments in the video below.
After the event, Woodson Martin, a Salesforce senior vice president said "company isn't disclosing the number of employees in the Seattle development office, but he noted that its 11,000-square-foot space was already seeming a little bit full, at least during a recent open house for family and friends. Salesforce.com's new office is located in the West 8th building at the corner of Westlake Avenue and 8th and Virginia Streets, not far from Amazon.com's new headquarters."
