Album art has been the medium of choice for some of world’s great graphic artists. Their work has not only reflected many musical cultures, but helped define them too. These images give a visual language to music that has influenced generations. Now you’ll be seeing album art on stamps in the UK as Royal Mail has issued 10 new stamps. Each of these pristine stamps features an album cover that’s as culturally significant as the music that it was designed to represent. These include: Rolling Stones: Let It Bleed; Led Zeppelin: IV; David Bowie: The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars
Mike Oldfield: Tubular Bells; The Clash: London Calling; New Order: Power, Corruption and Lies; Primal Scream: Screamadelica; Pink Floyd: The Division Bell; Blur: Parklife; Coldplay: A Rush of Blood To The Head.
