Report Viewer 2016 Update, Windows Server 2016 Operating System Management Pack Released

Report Viewer 2016 control update to NuGet, Microsoft System Center 2016 Management Pack for Windows Server Operating System published.

Report Viewer 2016 control update available as on today November 30, includes resource files for 14 supported languages and more. A few weeks ago, a Release Candidate of Report Viewer 2016 control was published to NuGet, that lets embed paginated reports into existing ASP.NET Web Forms apps.

The Report Viewer control update incorporating several enhancements made for SSRS 2016, including modern browser support as well as "supports and renders properly on pages that use ASP.NET master pages; supports pages accessed over HTTPS; provides improved error messages in some common cases when the control might not be configured properly."

With Microsoft's relational database engine SQL Server now available on Linux, alongwith both High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HADR) and security solutions critically important for enterprises.

With SQL Server 2016, security was further enhanced by additional security features such as Always Encrypted, Row-Level Security and Dynamic Data Masking.

In other news today, Microsoft has released an updated Windows Server 2016 Operating System Management Pack with fixed multiple customer and regression bugs and more.

  • New object types have been added for Nano to help users differentiate and manage them accurately
  • New monitor is added to alert when the Storport miniport driver times out a request
  • Various bugs related to Nano server such as issues with Nano Server Cluster Disk and Nano Server Cluster Shared Volumes health discoveries, Free Space monitors on Nano Server are fixed
