Readability. If you haven’t caught up with this free gem, it’s easy to get hooked. So, what is Readability? “Readability is a subscription-based mobile and web app that delivers a premium reading experience around just about any readable content on the web. No matter where you are or what device you use, your reading will be there. It works with your browser to remove the clutter from web pages or save them for later for reading at your convenience.
Readability is unique in that it earmarks 70% of subscriber fees to be distributed out to the owners of the sites that subscribers visit,” reads the description of the product.
“As a writer or publisher of content on the web, you can register with Readability and monitor reader activity to your pages. When a reader pegs a page for reading, Readability allocates some of the reader’s fee (on a pro-rated basis) to you.”
You need to a minute or two to set it up on your browser, then when you are at a website with a lot of text, like a newspaper or review site, simply click a Readability bookmark and whoosh–your webpage transformed: clutter disappears, text is magnified. There’s a bevy of options plus a robust paid program (including mobile apps).
