Quora for past few months has been rolling out a variety of features to help improve the user experience on the social question and answer site.
The newest element in the users experience enhancements is a browse page that joins Shuffle and Topic Pages, that pulls in recently upvoted answers from both topics that you follow and topics that are related to what you follow. The goal of the new browse page is to deliver fresh, relevant content that is personalized to Quora users.
This new functionality looks very nice visually, with large icons for the various topics:
When clicking on a topic within browse, the section expands to show the “best answer” and the associated author. As well as all of the topics within the browse section, there is also a trending section for the most popular content across Quora.
This gives authors more visibility as their avatar is shown alongside of their top answer and can be instantly followed:
Joel Lewenstein, Product Designer at Quora, stated:
The goal of the Browse page is to give you a fun way to find new content on Quora. The photo grid at the top shows topics with recently upvoted answers. These topics are personalized to you, chosen from topics related to ones you follow. The list will change over the course of hours and days, so check back often to see the newest content.
Below the grid is the Trending section, showing the best recent content from across the site. This is a way to discover great answers in topics you might not be following, like Pixar camera artist Craig L Good’s answer about plot decisions in Toy Story, or commercial airline pilot Jonathan Keith Marut’s answer on his career in the skies.
Just visit Quora to to find the answers on the topics that relate to you.
