PNY Technologies has just announced two new graphics card offerings, targeted at professional products. The NVIDIA Quadro FX 5600 SDI and the Quadro FX 4600 SDI come with a record amount of memory of 1.5 GB and deliver increased performance in graphics intensive applications.
The new cards will be premiered during the NAB 2008 show and expo in Las Vegas. PNY's offerings are HD-SDI solutions, based on NVIDIA’s unified GPU architecture, able to deliver increased performance, thanks to the massive amount of memory and the built-in HD-SDI outputs.
"The new flagship NVIDIA Quadro FX 5600 SDI by PNY, with an incredible 1.5GB memory, both standard and high definition SDI output, and all the advantages of NVIDIA’s latest GPU unified architecture provides our HD broadcast and film partners with even more power and performance than ever before," said Jeff Medeiros, senior business development manager, PNY Technologies Inc.
The two graphics cards are especially tailored for multimedia environments, and the increased frame buffer, in conjunction with their ability to generate and output HD-SDI content in real-time make them fully suitable for professional, live HD broadcasting environments.
"The biggest step for most of our broadcast customers this year has been moving to HD. A case in point would be the Decision 08 project at NBC Universal," claimed Paul Lacombe, head of Brainstorm America. "Their inventory of real-time elections graphics and fully immersive virtual environments needed to be realized in both SD and HD. The Quadro FX 5600 SDI by PNY was able to provide the solution," he continued.
The Nvidia Quadro SDI models can offer uncompressed SDI streams in a vast variety of video formats, including SDI in 2K, HD or SD. More than that, the cards are cross-OS compatible, and work in either Linux or Windows environments.
