Google launched a couple of improvements to the photo layer on Google Maps, which now shows high-quality images from Panoramio. Now you can filter photos displayed by Google Maps using the tag cloud generated by Google or using your own query. Restrict the photos to panoramas, landscapes, nature or buildings to create a custom photo layer. "the photos now appear in piles when there are lots of views of the same scene, and the left panel now contains links to filter the photos by popular tags" says jonah.
