Microsoft's Director of Trustworthy Computing, Tim Rains in the Cloud Fundamentals Series "All Data Is Not Created Equal," with Lori Woehler, senior director in the Microsoft World Wide Public Sector team, discuss how Microsoft World Wide Public Sector works with government, health care, education, public safety, and national security customers globally.
Lori explains her role in security programs as she focuses on information sharing, collaboration and security solutions that help public sector customers address security needs.
Lori reports that public sector customers are responsible for providing services back to their citizens, so data classification and access requirements are important considerations for them when it comes to migrating data and applications to the cloud.
She stated that "the ability to understand data and the classification of data and access requirements for that data is a foundation of making decisions for any workloads or any applications or datasets to move to the cloud."
Also, Microsoft posted a video explaining "Windows Server App Certification Program" to help partners get started.
"The overall mission of the Windows Server App Certification Program is to improve customer satisfaction by driving quality products that work well with Windows. The program is administered through the Microsoft Platform Ready portal and provides partners with resources to plan, build, test and take products and solutions to market," Microsoft stated.
Through this program, "ISVs increase product exposure in the Windows Server Catalog listing and differentiate quality products in the marketplace. Microsoft provides a streamlined certification and testing process that can tangibly improve product quality and is easy to participate in."
