Microsoft Program Manager Michael Affronti helped develop two new features for Microsoft Office 2010, one that organizes e-mails by conversation and another that lets people use e-mail to connect socially with friends and professional contacts. The new Conversations View feature in Outlook 2010 groups e-mails by conversation, letting users more easily navigate, organize, and delete messages from their inbox. Affronti says the new feature can reduce the number of clicks people typically use to deal with their inbox by up to 40%. Outlook Social Connector, on the other hand, is a set of features that help users keep track of their friends and colleagues and expand their professional network. The tool lets people see items such as Facebook updates and LinkedIn pictures for their e-mail contacts. It also allows users to add a contact as a friend on social networking sites.
