OneNote introduces new features for Android and along with new ways to embed content types and improvements to usability on shared devices, as well as a feature returns today “voice recording.”
The OneNote team has basically focused to launch new features and bring back some fan favorites, including password-protected sections, multi-window support, audio recording and the ability to insert embedded files.
The first feature launching today is the ability to open password protected sections on other devices, allow accessing sensitive information on the go.
Next features now bring multi-window support with the abiility to work side-by-side with other Android apps.
In the come back features, is the audio recording ability that let you capture notes and ideas on the go, as well as “record a lecture or practice own accent as you learn a new language,” Office team explains. Additionally, users can also take notes by typing, inking, clipping from the web right within OneNote.
Another feature that has a come back, is the insert and open embedded any Office file or a PDF that’s saved into OneNote to review docs on the go.
The team also notes, that a new feature coming soon will let “edit and personalize section tabs directly in the Android app.” Also, users will able to “go back and undo changes to their notes, making sure the ideas are written just the way they want them.”
Other updates adds the ability to embed new types of content susch as Office 365 videos and Repii.it, right onto the OneNote canvas.
In addition to new content types, single sign-on (SSO) authentication for embedded Office files automatically allow you to view rest of the files, “once signed in to a embedded document.”
Lastly, classroom is also added with Shared cart PC for OneNote feature now available in Android, enable students to use personalized OneNote experience across multiple shared PCs.
Before class begins, “teachers can assign any student any shared Windows 10 PC.” When students sign in to the shared PC, “new OneNote features help them use their personalized OneNote across multiple shared PCs.”
