Due to a United States court ruling related to a Custom XML markup implementation in Word 2003, Microsoft’s MSDN, TechNet, and Expression Subscribers in the US will not be allowed to download Office 2003 starting Jan 9, 2010. This doesn’t affect subscribers in other countries. Microsoft have requested a re-hearing in Word 2007 patent verdict. “All 36 languages of Office Professional Enterprise Edition 2003 are affected. Starting on Jan 9, 2010, MSDN subscribers in the countries/territories listed below will not be allowed to download Office 2003 Enterprise/Professional. At this time, we don’t have a date for when this restriction will be removed,” reads MSDN site.
