What's that blob on your digital camera? That funny looking suction cup thingy is actually a very portable tripod called the MonsterPod that will screw into your digital camera and stick to just about any surface - from wood to metal to plaster. So how does it work? It has a viscoelastic morphing polymer super grip base (got all that?) that is moldable to the surface and peels off easily. It's lightweight and compact and you can just throw it in your bag or pocket when you're done. Think about how useful this is and all those times you balanced your camera on makeshift tripods just to get a steadier shot. The MonsterPod isn't available yet but according to the website it should be out in a few weeks at $29.95.
