Population of mobile video viewers in US will grow nearly 30% in 2010 to reach 23.9 million, according to eMarketer's forecasts. The will continue growing in the double digits for a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 22.8% from 2009 through 2014.
eMarketer predicts that mobile video revenues, including direct downloads, subscriptions and ad-supported video, will roughly triple between 2009 and 2014, rising from $436 million to $1.34 billion. "mobile video revenues are broken down into subscription, pay-per-download, and ad-supported. In 2010, pay-per download will represent 75% of revenues ($413 million), subscription 18% ($100 million), and ad supported 6% ($35 million). By 2014, that mix is expected to be 67% for pay-per-download ($901 million), 18% for subscriptions ($235 million), and 15% for advertising ($206 million). Numbers may not add up to 100 due to rounding."
