At TEDx Redmond, Microsoft Surface unit in the lobby area outside the conference hall showcase its applications. One unit had nsquared's education pack with a broad array of educational apps. The second unit had two apps developed by InfoStrat for Smithsonian Institution. That included one shown below where Surface would respond to a real flashlight to digitally illuminate deep sea fish. The third unit had Concierge with Bing Maps, Stimulant's Touch Tones and a beta 4-person paint program by one of Surface team members.
