Microsoft Solitaire Collection on Windows has reached more than 100 million unique users on Windows 10, Windows 8 and mobile devices.
In a blog, the company while commemorating the milestone, shared a few facts about Microsoft Solitaire and details on a new feature that will take gameplay to the next level!
A tournament was also held by Microsoft to celebrate the game's 25th anniversary last year.
According to the post, on an average 55 million Microsoft Solitaire Collection games are played each day. The numbers translate to 20 billion games per year, 2.29 million each hour and 38,194 each minute.
These numbers are certainly enviable for any casual game, that even after 26 years still remains one of the most played games of all time on any Windows OS. That legacy legacy continues even today's Microsoft Solitaire Collection on Windows 10 and Windows 8.
Since, Microsoft added support for the game on Xbox Live, the game has awarded more than 1.3 billion Gamerscore to players to date.
Gamers can earn some serious gamer cred by playing the Solitaire Collection on Windows 8 and Windows 10.
There's also a new game mode called Events that will be available this fall.
Solitaire Collection includes several games – "Klondike," "Spider," "FreeCell," "Pyramid" and "Tripeaks" – in one app with new Daily Challenges, Star Club and Xbox Live Achievements.
In addition, also unveiled today, a new game mode called "Events" for the casual game suite. Available this fall, with Events, you can play your favorite games and build your Solitaire legacy.
Events, in short brings social aspect to the games, where you stack up against your friends and community and reward the gamers for achievements.
In other Xbox news, Background music on Xbox One, is now available. All you need to do is open an Xbox One partner app that supports background music.
Those apps include Groove Music, which helps you listen to the perfect playlist for every game genre, and the updated Pandora app, which now supports background music.
Aside, Microsoft has today kicked off yet another promotion in its end of summer sale, "now offering up to 44% discount on various movies and TV shows."
Additionally, the company is also offering various comedy titles for as low as $9.99. However, people who enjoy action movies, Microsoft is also providing some great flicks at $9.99.
