Microsoft has launched —the beta version of “Windows Live Call for Free” (previously known as Free Call) in the US. —A service aimed at connecting businesses with users of Windows Live Local. By selecting the Call for Free link from local search results, a call to the business is initiated and then forwarded it to the users's number. This allows users to make a free telephone call to the business, whilst keep their telephone number private.
