Coming fall, Microsoft will be releasing the upcoming new Windows operating namely Windows 8.
Microsoft is reportedly working on various international flavors of the upcoming platform which is optimized for touch-devices, including a special flavor of Windows 8 for China.
The "Windows 8 for China" will arrive as a cheaper OS flavor, and won't arrive with too many visible changes. It won't pack the Media Center either. This SKU is most probably aimed to ensure that there will be no counterfeit variant the Windows 8 copies, reports WinUnleaked.
Apparently, this Windows 8 SKU won't be installed unless it's accompanied by the Chinese ISO. If installed with the English ISO, a Blue Screen of Death Reading "bad MUI" appears.
Here is the leaked screenshots of the SKU:
In the leaked screenshot you will notice that there are no pre-pinned applications in the taskbar. Additionally, it appears that the LPKSetup will still be present on this SKU, which means that users might be able to install other Language Packs as well.
Update 04/10: Microsoft's cvp, and original equipment manufacturer Steve Guggenheimer has today confirmed in a report that Windows 8 China edition is indeed real.
