Microsoft kicked off the first “Microsoft Advertising Story Awards” contest to find the world’s most innovative digital marketer with the chance to win a trip to the Oscars-of-the-advertising-world, Cannes Lions 2012.
“You know you’re an innovator. Now’s your chance to show everyone else.
What does it mean to plan a truly innovative campaign across multiple screens?
You show us. Enter the Microsoft Advertising Story Awards, established to recognize
excellence in digital innovation,” reads the site description.
The contest specifies “entries will be judged on how effectively your campaign plan uses Microsoft Advertising solutions”.
Essentially, this is a promotion to get more advertisers to explore and use Microsoft’s broad set of advertising properties which include but is not limited to MSN, mobile, Skype and XBOX. To illustrate this in practice, Microsoft got geek-celebrity Felicia Day to help tell the Microsoft Advertising story through a tongue-in-cheek video:
Felicia in the video showcases “our innovative advertising solutions and illustrating how we can help you tell your brand story. Includes a tour of IAB Filmstrip, mobile advertising, Skype and Xbox (the den of creativity)!,” stated Microsoft.
The deadline to enter the Microsoft Advertising Story Awards is March 31st 2012.
