Messenger Lite, a standalone and slimmed down version of Facebook Messenger for Android, is aimed at the countries with slower than average internet speeds is released as on October 3, 2016.

Facebook is rolling out Messenger Lite today to people in Kenya, Tunisia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Venezuela. And, will release it in other countries in the coming months.
