Bloomberg is reporting Marissa Mayer, Google's VP of search products, is switching roles and she'll take on a new role within the company, as Google pushes more into location and local services.
"Marissa is responsible for what you see today at Google.com. She has helped design, develop, and evolve Google's search interface, has helped launch more than 100 features and products on Google.com, including, most recently, Instant. She has also worked on Gmail, Google News, Google Maps, Google Earth, iGoogle, including the most recent Google Instant launch."
The source also told Bloomberg that Marissa is now part of Google's operating committee, the company's senior most management group.
