In a bid to draw in new customers, 'trade-only' retailer Makro have begun selling the Xbox 360 for 200 GBP, that's the premium pack, not the core pack, offering a whopping 80 GBP discount over other retailers. Those 'purporting' to represent a company or be self-employed can join the Makro club and buy one of the consoles, in a similar fashion to stores like Cosco.
"It's something we're doing to bring customers into the stores, it's not an official price cut from Microsoft," Makro's Joanne Armstrong told UK industry site GamesIndustry.biz.
The store claim to have lots of units in stock, and the special campaign will last for two weeks, so you've ample opportunity to bag yourself a bargain should you wish to join Microsoft's next-gen revolution.
MS were quick to distance themselves from the deal: "Xbox does not control the retail price of the Xbox 360 videogame and entertainment system - prices are set by retailers. The promotion that Makro is running is not endorsed or administered by Microsoft."
