Logitech Revue and Controller for Google TV unveiled today. The Revue box itself is small, sleek, at the rear, you’ll find separate HDMI 1.3a inputs and outputs, each supporting 1080p video at 60 fps. A separate S/PDIF optical audio port connect to an AV receiver or speakers. Standard 10/100 Ethernet and integrated 802.11 a/b/g/n, and 2 USB 2.0 ports support up to 40GB, and need to be formatted as FAT32. Logitech state that drives over 40GB may work with the device, but aren’t supported. You’ll also spot ports for IR Blasters which can be used to extend the range of IR signal reception.
Revue’s bundled controller looks excellent, with an integrated trackpad on the right side, back, home, and favourites buttons for web browsing underneath, a dual view button to start a second activity whilst continuing to watch TV and standard video control buttons at lower right.
At top left, you’ll find a left mouse button for click and drag, volume and mute controls, buttons for accessing standard TV guide, recorded TV on your DVR as well as a button to return back to Live TV viewing. At bottom, a dedicated search button, menu button and channel controls will make using Google TV very simple indeed. Common keyboard shortcuts for Google Chrome are fully supported on keyboard.
