Live Mesh: Tech preview open to all testers

Microsoft has opened up availability of its Live Mesh Software + Service sync/collaboration platform to any U.S.-based tester with a Windows Live ID. (Those outside the U.S. also can get access to the test build as long as they have a Live ID and are willing to change their Windows operating system region and language setting to EN-US.)

Live Mesh Forum posted on July 15th, that Live Mesh is now openly available to anyone in the U.S. That created quite a stir in the blogosphere until Live Mesh Team’s following announcement:

Our forum announcement from yesterday got a lot of people talking. We just updated the forum post to clarify exactly what’s going on, but I want to explain here as well.  This week we did two things:

  • Doubled the maximum number of users we’ll allow to access the Live Mesh Technology Preview.
  • Simplified the Tech Preview sign-up process.  We’ve removed the requirement to sign up via Microsoft Connect, so that instead you can sign up directly from www.mesh.com.
