Google News U.S. edition over the next week rolling out three new features including: larger images on the main page; a new realtime coverage page to surface the latest articles and commentary; and relevant Google+ posts for a new social perspective.

Google New U.S. Edition's new realtime coverage page is now available for every news story as soon as they become available to Google News.

Google also bringing Google+ discussions to both the News homepage, and the realtime coverage pages. "This way you can see what your circles, journalists covering the story and notables like politicians or others who are the subjects of stories have to say about breaking news, and even contribute to the discussion directly from Google News," posted Google.
Note that these "Google+ discussions will only appear for those of you reading the US edition who have signed in and upgraded to Google+," google said.

And, if you prefer Google News to contain just news stories and no Google+ posts, you can either log out of Google or turn off the display of Google+ posts via the Google News settings page.
In other Google news, Google Apps for Business, Government and Education today received a new redesigned Google Groups, that now offer a new and improved user interface, collaborative inbox, take and assign topic functionality, multi-domain support, advanced search operators, new ways of viewing group content, and much more.
How to access what's new?
"Beginning May 15, Rapid Release users who navigate to the Google Groups page will see a horizontal blue bar toward the top of the groups page saying, "The old Google Groups will be going away soon. Switch to the new Google Groups."," informs Google.
Scheduled Release users who navigate to the Google Groups page will simply see a notification that Groups will be changing soon.
Google Apps domains on the Scheduled Release track will see the old Google Groups but will also see a notification informing users that the old groups will soon be going away.
