Don you know Kurt Vile's new music video for "Baby Arms"--was shot entirely on a Samsung Focus Windows 7 Phone.
"The video was directed by fashion photographer turned auteur Todd Cole, who filmed on location in East L.A. "Baby Arms" is a cut from the Philly singer-guitarist's excellent new album Smoke Ring for My Halo. The project, the latest installment in the Windows Phone Me series, not only resulted in an entertaining video for Vile fans, but budding smartphone cinematographers won't want miss the revealing behind-the-scenes companion footage, which shows how Cole and his Focus pulled it all off," CNET reported.
Cole said he liked using a mobile phone for video because because it felt liberating and "less intimidating" than the typical, full set of equipment. It allowed him to just be there and capture images as they happened.
"I am not sure if smartphones are going to redefine short film making, but I do think they offer a great new creative tool that is easy to use, delivers high-quality video, and is always accessible," Cole said.
