At Electronic Entertainment Expo, the name of Microsoft’s Xbox 360 motion controller has been revealed with a magical Cirque du Soleil performance; Formerly Project Natal, now called as “Kinect”. New console can connect to Xbox LIVE in seconds using built-in WI-FI. It also can store twice as many games as current version on a 250 GB hard drive. It comes with a controller, headset, HDMI input, USB flash drive storage capabilities, and a one-year warranty for $299.
Xbox LIVE and ESPN to bring more than 3,500 live sports events a year to subscribers. These’ll include college sports, NBA, and international soccer.
Microsoft’s game offerings for Kinect include “Kinect Animals, Kinect Joyride, Kinect Adventures, and Kinect Sports, Dance Central,” in development by MTV Games, incorporates immersive, full-body dancing without the need for a controller, and Star Wars characters and iconic Disney favorites will be featured in separate new games being developed at Microsoft in conjunction with LucasArts and Disney.
