The Navigation pane in Word 2010 lets you change the order of your document as quickly as you browse from site to site on the Web.
“To change the order of content sections, just drag their headings in the Navigation pane. The contents in the document are rearranged–without cutting, scrolling, pasting, and getting mixed up. And to quickly go to a section of the document, click the heading in the Navigation pane. Word takes you to that spot,” explains Office team.
Before you can swap things around in the Navigation pane, you need to apply styles to the headings–and those styles are used to create the table of contents, too.
