Have you purchased a Mac recently: As part of its up-to-date program, Apple is offering a $6.99 upgrade as long as you purchased the Mac in October. Sep'30th? $49! "If you've purchased a qualifying computer that does not include iLife '11, you can upgrade to iLife '11 for $6.99," Apple said

Here's how it works?

  • Customers who purchase a qualifying new Mac computer or an Apple Certified Refurbished computer from Apple Online Store between Oct'1 and Oct'19, 10 and that doesn't include iLife '11 can upgrade to iLife '11 for US $6.99 plus tax.
  • Customers who purchase a qualifying new Mac computer or an Apple Certified Refurbished computer from Apple Online Store on or after Oct'20,10 and that doesn't include iLife '11 can upgrade to iLife '11 for US $6.99 plus tax.

Also, of note, Apple didn't update its iDVD and iWeb applications which basically means they are now dead, even though the older version will come with new Macs.
