Microsoft started delivering Internet Explorer 8 via Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) on Aug 25th, along with standalone Language Packs for Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008. However, there’ll be an additional wave of downloads for WSUS admins on September 22nd, and all supported languages’ll of IE8 be available for Windows XP. Finally, cumulative security updates for IE8 and IE8 Compatibility View List updates’ll be made available via WSUS as they’re released.

To control deployment: IE8’s available under “Update rollup” category. Note: even if Auto-Approve for “Update Rollup” category is on, IE8’ll not automatically be deployed- you must approve IE8 EULA before its deployed to your downstream clients. As IE8 EULA’s shared between all IE8 WSUS items, once you accept EULA for any items, the remaining items may be approved without accepting the EULA.
