Google seems to be testing improvements to the search snippets for the pages that include big tables. Google is improving the HTML structures in the display of the snippets, search descriptions, reports +Wissam Dandan.
If you search for [bruceclay search operators] and look at the BruceClay newsletter result, you will see Google has an unusual snippet (see the pic). They’re just like the snippets for lists, but columns are clearly separated and snippets also include the table header.
“Google is trying to figure out the make up of the old fashion HTML tables to show the snippet in a table format,” says Barry Schwartz.
Google also finds the most relevant columns from the table and usually displays the first two rows.
