HTC “Sense” will live on Windows Phone 7 despite limitations

HTC, Taiwan-based smartphone maker said “their upcoming phones running Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 mobile operating system will run an adapted version of overlay user interface, dubbed “Sense”.” “Microsoft has taken firmer control of the core experience [in WinP7], but we can still innovate,” says Drew Bamford….future version of Sense, he adds, won’t look the way it does on Windows Mobile 6.5, where it basically replaces all core apps and is fully integrated into phone.

In the future, “Sense will also make discovering and sharing media–music, video, mobile applications and books–easier, in addition to its current people-centric, emphasizing the aggregation of social feeds and photos of people deemed important to users,” says Bamford.

HTC also wants its devices to better synch with cloud services so users can access their data anywhere and stream it over the air to their phones.
