German TV Tuner specialist Hauppauge announces the world's first Freeview HD (DVB-T2) TV tuner for PC called "PCTV nanostick T2 290e" – a small USB tuner which decode Freeview HD channels at a resolution of 1280 x 720p –free to air high definition channels from BBC, ITV and Channel 4 will be available to watch and record on a PC running Hauppauge's own TV Center 6 software, as well as Windows Vista and Windows 7 Media Center. Mac OSX isn't supported at this point.
nanostick T2 is shown at IFA 2010, using special HD test streams from German TV channel ZDF set up for the show – DVB-T2 isn't currently available in Germany.
Set for release in October, the nanostick T2 will be available online and through PC World, priced at £99.
