A article on Wired notfied about the use of the new Twitter integration feature in Bing Maps beta. In the article they referenced some Twitter actions coming from directly Haiti, and a link to a Bing Maps, that shows where some of the tweets are coming from in real time. This was made possible by the “mapplications” feature launched in early Dec, that allows Bing Maps users to see real-time updates from the microblogging network placed on a map corresponding to the tweets’ originating location. To make this happen, you’ll have to enable the geolocation feature in Twitter from account setting, as its switched off by default. And of course, there’s the Twitter hashtag #haiti.
