Facebook Messenger adds another new chat feature – the ability to video chat in groups is rolling out worldwide to Android and iOS devices, and of course on the desktop version of Messenger.
Facebook notes that with 245 million people making video calls in Messenger every month, now whether you're down the street or halfway across the world—group chats in Messenger bring into face-to-face live conversations.
The new Group Video Chat, which is free over wifi, can call upto six people at a time, and the dominant speaker is shown to all participants. However, if your group is a little larger…,,need not to worry, because "up to 50 people can join in and choose to just listen in and join via voice, or be on camera," facebook says.
To get started, install the latest version of Messenger, and open an existing conversation group, or create a new, then in the upper right corner of the screen, single tab the video icon to enter the video chat and everyone in the group will be notified and can join when they are ready.
Also, you can directly ring a few people or the whole group.
