Google has promoted Susan Wojcicki from vp product management to svp. Wojcicki, Google's 18th employee, will continue her duties, overseeing advertising and measurement platform products, including AdWords, AdSense, DoubleClick and Google Analytics.
There're eight other svps at Google, including one other woman, Shona L. Brown, who oversees business operations.
Wojcicki has been responsible for advertising and analytics products since 2006, previously working on Google Images, Video, and Books. She also rented her garage to Sergey Brin and Larry Page in 1998 in the early days of Google.
This follows the recent promotion of Marissa Mayer, who's now in charge of location and local services.
She knew Sergey Brin, the Google co-founder, before he started the company, and rented her garage to him and Larry Page, the other co-founder.
