A new Google doodle greeting Happy New Years 2013, is made up of the past Google Doodles created in the passing year 2012.
If you click any of the doodle incorporated in the new year eve doodle, the link takes you to that specific Google doodle directly in the Google doodle directory page. For example, clicking on the Star Trek icon at the top left, takes you to the Star Trek Doodle released on the 46th anniversary of Star Trek in the September 2012.
And, in other Google news, according to a report, Google took down over 50 million DMCA requests in 2012 received by the company following the introduction of the new "web spam" search ranking alogrithm introduced on April 24, 2012, "a penalty against sites that have an unusual number of legitimate DMCA requests filed against them--and decrease the rankings for those sites."
"Google removed 51,395,353 links from their search engine in 2012, and 7,816,766 of those were issued by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America), which led the number of requests and taken downs," TorrentFreak who did the math reports.
