Last year, a new ride services mode added to Google Maps, for people to conveniently go where they need—had since received a number of new ride service partners in the U.S. and worldwide.
Today, Google has begun rolling out this updated ride services experience on both Android and iOS globally—making it easier to book a ride directly from Google Maps.
So what's new? First up, when ride services opens up, you'll find a fresh look with more types of ride options and actionable information. More specifically, your favorite map, along with a carousel of ride service providers in your area will be shown. Tapping on a provider, "will now show you a complete list of ride options and special offers or promotions."
Another update brings you the ability to now book Uber directly within the Google Maps—even if you don't have Uber app installed on your device. Bu just signing into your Uber account, "you can now book an Uber ride, track driver on the map, and connect with your driver" all from within the Google Maps app.
Additionally, information about your destination while en route can be seen as well with "menus, hours and other helpful details are only a swipe away."
In addition, Maps also now makes it easier to get things done in the real world, "from booking a ride to reserving a table at a local restaurant, or booking favorite fitness class to ordering delivery for a night in," google said.
