Next time, you heads out you can now easily know about the parking difficulty “if any” before you reach your desitination right on the Google Maps.
Factoring in time for parking can make or break a outing, so starting today in all 25 metro areas throughout the U.S., Google is introducing a new “parking difficulty” icon in the Maps app for Android aimed to give you a heads up about the kind of parking crunch you may face where you’re headed and help you better plan your travel including time for parking.
To see how difficult it might be to park at your destination, ‘just open up Google Maps app for Android, get directions to your destination and look for the parking difficulty icon in the directions card at the bottom of the screen.”
The parking difficulties range from limited to medium to easy, and is based on historical parking data, similar to how Google calculates popular times for venues and visit duration.
The parking difficulty icons on the Maps is currently available across the US in the following metro areas:
“San Francisco, Seattle, Miami, Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, Minneapolis/St. Paul, New York City, Orlando, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, San Diego, St. Louis, Tampa, Washington, DC, Cleveland, Dallas/Fort Worth, Denver, Houston, Phoenix, Portland and Sacramento.”
