Google advising advertisers to explore the MENA (Middle East and Northern Africa) region during the Ramadan period that starts from Tuesday May 15 to Thursday June 14.
In fact, increased activity during Ramadan is often sustained for the rest of the year. Citing the Ramadan 2018 Ad Guide on Think with Google MENA, the expert shared the following key reasons of this busiest ad season:
- During Ramadan not only media consumption, but also consumer purchase and spending habits do change as well.
- Around 53% consumers in Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Egypt increase their overall spending with a strong focus on regular household items such as groceries.
- Additionally, because customers look mostly for offers and brand loyalty becomes less important, it creates a window of opportunity for new players to enter the market.
- Preferred offers during this period are discounts and additional free units, therefore a strong promotional communication is recommended when communicating with target audience.
