Google Data Studio Report Adds AdWords, Search Console, and More Data Controls

Google Data Studio, freely available across globe with support for PostgreSQL, MySQL, Wednesday received some new features for quicker accessing of data like, new "Community Connectors" developer program, that allow visualization of data from any source.

Developers using Google Apps Scripts can easily create and share 'Community connectors' with other users to use these connector to access their own data. Already, available is an example connector to monitor bitcoin prices, along with over 200 connector for parnters.

Also, Google now allow customers to embed Data Studio reports into workflows or websites and apps using iframes enabling you to share compelling data stories or critical insights at no additional cost.

Embeds can be fully interactive, and provide fine-grained control over who can see data, with support to both private, public, and non-logged in access. Just select Report -> File -> Embed report, then place the HTML code snippet into an iframe on your website.

Google also now simplifies reporting across multiple accounts with the new 'data contro' that let you reuse a single report across all your accounts. The following connectors are currently supported by data control: AdWords (Account & MCC), YouTube Analytics, Search Console, DoubleClick Campaign Manager, and Google Analytics. More connectors are planed for future adding, says Google.

Additionally, using data control reports can also be templatize, so viewers can see their data in a report without having to create anything in Data Studio.

Other additional capabilities added today, include:

  • export any chart data directly to Google Sheets.
  • new Google Cloud Storage connector, making it easy to use Data Studio with data in Google Cloud Storage.
  • SSL support for MySQL connector.
  • ability to see the totals in the table visualization.

And lasty, the Data Studio is also now launched in Russia.
