Google added a new features “Track” to Google Buzz that allow you to enter a search query and then receive new public Buzz posts—in real time—that matches query. Also you can restrict your search to a specific geographic area!
- To start receiving updates, you only need to send a query to track endpoint, subscribe to returned link, and then start receiving updates. For e.g., if you’d like to receive new Buzz’s about coffee or tea, simply open Google Reader, click “Add a subscription,” and paste in this URL: https://www.googleapis.com/buzz/v1/activities/track?q=coffee+OR+tea
- Additionally, rolling out improved error messaging. For e.g., if you tried to read an activity without including activity id before today, you’d receive just an HTTP error code. But, now you’d also get a detailed error message returned in the response body:
- Finally, count API that returns the number of times a specified link was shared on Google Buzz. Google now allows you to specify long link or any corresponding short link to get total available count.
