Google Analytics version 5 in its latest improvements to the experience released a number of updates today that include improvements to help customize the layout of Analytics dashboards to better suit individual needs.
In addition, "dashboards now support advanced segments and widgets." "Users can now use "maps, devices and bar chart widgets" in order to create a perfectly tailored dashboard. You can even share and export custom dashboards," Google stated.
Google Analytics sidebar now include quick access to all-important shortcuts. And, the now enabled shortcuts for real-time reports, "allows you to set up a specific region to see its traffic in real-time, for example," informs Google.
New Recent History help you navigate to recently used reports and profiles quicker. And, the now "improved search functionality" allows you to search across all reports, shortcuts and dashboards all at once to find what you need.
Google Analytics does have some keyboard shortcuts that help you move around faster. Here are a few useful ones:
Search: s , / (Access to the quick search list)
Account List: Shift + a (access to the quick account list)
Set date range: d + t (set the date range to today)
On screen guide: Shift + ? (view the complete list of shortcuts)
Google also made it easier YoY date comparison with new quick selection option that lets you select previous year to prefill date range improving your productivity to conduct year over year analysis.
Finally, you can now export data to native Excel XSLX support and Google Docs.
