Over at Search Engine Roundtable, Barry Schwartz points to a Webmaster World thread which compares the Google AdSense information from each of Google’s quarterly earnings reports dating from Q4 2003 until Q1 2007.
The comparison shows a dip in total revenue share for Google AdSense publishers from Q3 2004 until Q3 2006, then a sharp increase in Q4 2006 and Q1 2007.
According to the comparison, Google AdSense revenue sharing is at its peak since the introduction of Google’s contextual advertising network.
- Higher quality of publishers & partners
- More strategic partners with negotiated revenue share
- Higher share due to competition at YPN, Federated Media and other ad formulas
- The introduction of image and video advertising in Google AdSense
