Google's Data Studio team following the addition of the MySQL connector, continues enhancing all of their connectors and now adds another which is a most asked connector by the users, a new "PostgreSQL."

PostgreSQL is an open source relational database management system developed by a worldwide team of volunteers. This new connector allows you to access data from PostgreSQL based databases within Data Studio, and uses the PostgreSQL JDBC driver to connect a Data Studio data source to a single PostgreSQL database table.

Once this PostgreSQL connector in Data Studio is connected, "you will be able to see a list of all your columns" and also "you can create custom aggregations and calculations over data directly in Data Studio," writes the team.

To get started, create a new Report, add a new Data Source, and select PostgreSQL Connector. Then using the wizard configure access to your PostgreSQL database.
