Fujitsu introduced a new entry-level PRIMERGY MX130 S1 server, providing a solid, reliable AMD-based platform for file, web and print services. S1 is designed for the needs of start-ups and very small businesses, is a cost-effective alternative to sharing valuable business data via an error-prone patchwork combination of peer-to-peer networks, easily-stolen USB drives and inter-office emails.
The new model optionally ships with Windows Server 2008 R2 Foundation, with up to 16GB server-grade DDR3 ECC RAM available across 4 DIMM slots. A choice of 2 3.5" hard drives or 6 2.5l" hard drives can be fitted internally with six rear USB 2.0 ports available for further expansion. Hardware RAID is supported as standard. Prospective small business customers can opt for AMD's Athlon II X2 or Sempron processors.
