foursquare 4.0 released today for the iOS 5 brings some notable new features, specifically, “Radar” that lets you know about interesting and cool things nearby, even when your phone is in your pocket. “For instance: maybe a group of your friends are hanging out nearby, or you’re around the corner from this amazing Mexican restaurant that’s been on your To-Do List forever. After you turn foursquare Radar on, your phone will let you know so you won’t miss out,” revealed foursquare.
It helps you discover more about the world.
For iOS 4 people, there are some other cool changes, like new sharing features and an updated ‘Me’ tab (just tap on your name). Other than that, this is the same foursquare you know and love.
“Now, if you follow a list, like the 101 Best Dishes of 2011, foursquare will let you know when you’re next to one. Or you save that yoga studio to your To-Do List (because you really want to try it); we can remind you when you’re close. Or, better yet, if you’re driving home and three of your friends are getting together nearby, we’ll tell you so you can meet up. The app doesn’t even have to be open, it just works. We call it foursquare Radar, because it finds things nearby that you normally wouldn’t know about,” explains foursquare.
After you download the latest version of the foursquare App and turn on Radar, your iPhone running iOS 5 will help you spend more time with the people and places around you.
It’s powered by foursquare’s Explore algorithm.
