The much-missed official Foursquare app has now checked into Windows Phone Marketplace.
Sporting a snazzy new look and some great new features in its 2.0 incarnation like recommended places, most explored, and check in history.
"The new version really speaks to the distinctive capabilities (and slick design!) of Windows Phone, while maintaining the foursquare features you know and love. Playing around with it, what's cool is that it feels both familiar and new, with a personalized experience through the lens of Windows Phone 7's panoramic UI," said foursquare blog.
In addition to the new redesigned metro UEX, key features also include:
- Panorama dashboard view of updated places, friends, me and explore
- Super-fast check-in via one click "tap and hold" on places in the panorama
- Leaderboard Live Tile
- Useful new sorts, e.g. places by "here now", friends by "name"
- Mapping of nearby places, friends and specials
- ...and many more!
For those who are not aware, "Foursquare, in case you haven't heard, is a location-based social app that helps you discover new places to go and things to do around town. See where your friends are and what they like, while "checking in" to share your own travels, earning points and prizes along the way."
