Users of Windows Vista can run into glitches when setting up Windows Media Center, Microsoft noted that “when you run Windows Media Center Setup on a computer that is running Windows Vista. You click the Watch Video button when you configure the display characteristics in Windows Media Center, and then minimize or maximize the window. In this situation, a black screen is displayed.” Customers, who’ve come across black screen during the Windows Media Center setup process can access and download the hotfix free of charge from Microsoft Support. Per the information made available by Microsoft via KB978862, Windows 7 users are in no way impacted by the issue, which is limited to Vista.
