Today, the first of the quarterly feature updates for Windows Embedded Standard 7 SP1 released on the ECE site. This update contains two new features-Enhanced Write Filter Provider and File Based Write Filter Provider.

"These new components provide access to the respective Write Filter API through the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) layer.

The goal of each feature is to expose the full functionality of the Write Filter to all .NET languages as well as to the Windows Scripting Host. Furthermore, the Write Filter Providers enables remote management of the Enhanced Write Filter or File Based Write Filter."

The new features are rolled into the Window Embedded Standard 7 SP1 March 2011 Feature Update.
