Many of us receive unsolicited email messages from people or organizations we don't know. "With more than 600 million users, Yahoo! has noticed a significant increase in marketers' use of email to pitch their products and services. Unless users have provided permission to receive these emails, they're considered "spam." Most online users consider spam annoying and time consuming, but many lose money or private information to fraudulent offers.

If you receive spam email that you think is deceptive, forward it to Federal Trade Commission. The FTC uses the spam stored in its database to pursue law enforcement actions against people who send deceptive email," informs Yahoo!.
